In the words of the curator: On June 3, Leticia Sánchez Toledo opens Docile Metals and Memory at The Annex Gallery, a series that delves into the material and affective memory of objects. The pieces were conceived from metal trays unearthed on Facebook Marketplace, at Sunday flea markets, and in secondhand venues. They are objects few still wish to keep in their original state — easy to come by, hard to maintain, awkward to place. Perhaps that is why they are perfect for a wall, an affectionate wink at the days when they quietly accompanied intimate gatherings and the small gestures of daily life.
From that humble condition, from the proximity of the domestic, the series shifts the trays toward another regime of attention. This will be the first public showing of a body of work that, sustained by remarkable technical excellence and an especially intricate process of execution, opens an intimate and authentic connection with the forms of friendship, kinship, and sociability that shaped Caribbean life in the early decades of the twentieth century.

Palette Project
Over the weekend the Lowe Art Museum hosted its annual fundraising event, Evening of Art, featuring The Palette Project, a silent auction of original works by nationally and internationally recognized artists!
Each palette is a one-of-a-kind work of art, created especially for our annual Palette Project and celebrating the creativity that fuels Miami’s arts community.
From February 20–28, visitors can cast their vote in person for the Community Choice Award during museum hours (Wednesday-Saturday | 10AM-4PM). The winning artist will be announced at Evening of Art on February 28.
“La infinita medida de los sueños”, Collective Exibition. February 21, 2026.
Zapata Gallery, in synergy with the Luciano Méndez Collection of Contemporary Cuban Art, presents “The Infinite Measure of Dreams.”
Curated by art historian Dannys Montes de Oca, the exhibition brings together a selection of works in which artists from different generations and visual languages converge. On this occasion, the focus turns to the intuitions that guide collecting, aesthetic rigor, and a commitment to art as a space for knowledge, contemplation, and cultural connection.
Built over more than two decades, the Luciano Méndez Collection offers a map of the concerns, obsessions, and poetic gestures that define visual production in Cuba.
“No More Heroes” Collective Exibition, Nov. 30, 2025.
Through painting, sculpture, installation, and photography, No More Heroes explores the tension between presence and absence, faith and disillusion, light and void. The participating artists navigate the intersections between history and imagination, confronting the debris of grand narratives and reconstructing meaning through subtle transformations.
This show marks an important moment for us as we approach the final exhibitions in our Little River gallery.
“Reciprocity” Collective exhibition, September 19, 2025.
The Julio Larraz Foundation, in collaboration with Ascaso Gallery, opens this friday Reciprocity, an exhibition that pays tribute to the Cuban master’s legacy and his decisive influence on contemporary art. The opening reception will take place this evening, September 19, from 6 to 10 pm at the gallery’s Miami location.
The show presents Larraz’s works alongside those of eleven artists who, in different ways, have engaged with him in a creative dialogue shaped by inspiration and mentorship. The participants are Cooper Dragonette, Reyner Ferrer, Julio Figueroa Beltrán, Nelson Halil, Maia Larraz, Reinier Llanes, Jefreid Lotti, Heidy Love Larraz, Edel Lugones, Leticia Sánchez Toledo, and Jojacne Téllez. Each shares with Larraz a bond of artistic reciprocity, where his generosity and vision continue to resonate.

“Curated by Yi Chin Hsieh, “Neither Here Nor There” revolves around in-between states and liminal spaces, incorporating themes of migration, displacement, and cultural mixture that typify life in Miami. The group presentation at MIFA (Miami International Fine Arts) gallery, just outside Doral, features work from more than a dozen artists.”
